We can't believe this summer is already over. It was a whirlwind of rescue activity for Community Cat Club. There was a lot of fun and quite a bit of stress, but that's to be expected during kitten season!
Let's start off with our rescue stats from the months of June through August!
We usually release our stats on a monthly basis but we were simply TOO overwhelmed to go over the numbers. Now that things are slowing down, we can reflect on just how busy the rescue was with our 300+ cats and kittens that we took in! The majority of which were kittens which means that we also secured the spay/neuter surgeries of hundreds of kittens, their moms and dads, and completed all of their medical vetting.
$10,000 RAISED FOR TNR
Our surgery numbers are way up which is amazing to see! Back in June, we got together with over 100 of our Community Cat Club members at Double Nickel Brewing for our Beers for Tipped Ears fundraiser for TNR. The event was an incredible success and thanks to the generosity of our Club and a grant from Community Cats Podcast, we raised over ten thousand dollars for the spay and neuter surgeries for South Jersey community cats! These funds can only be used for community cats and not for owned or foster cats and kittens, so donations from our faithful Club are instrumental in our ability to continue on our mission.
WE CLEARED THE RESCUE!
August was another monumental month. When we were at the peak of our intake, we ran multiple adoption events for Clear the Shelters month. You may have even caught us hanging out with broadcast journalist Sheila Watko during our Clear the Shelters Feature on NBC 10 Philly! Check out the post to see our interview if you missed it! Thanks to Stratosphere Brewing Company and Petco for hosting our August adoption events and for NBC 10 Philly for boosting our message, we were able to secure dozens of forever homes for our fosters in August!
WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED
CCC is going to finish up the year strong. We still have nearly 100 cats and kittens in our care who need foster homes and forever homes, which means we still rely on your monetary and food/supply donations to keep these furnaces taken care of. But as kitten season begins to slow, we can turn to having some fun again with great events. Keep an eye on our Events page and on our socials for updates to our in-person schedules and come hang out with the Club!
